The Leading Nonprofit Organization for Pregnancy and Baby Health
March of Dimes History and Mission
Founded in 1938 by President Franklin D. Roosevelt, this non-profit organization is dedicated to improving the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality. With this creed in mind, March of Dimes has helped expand research efforts, education, advocacy, and community service throughout the country. These efforts have resulted in the eradication of many infant health issues, and the march to make a difference continues! The March for Babies is the March of Dimes’ largest fundraiser, typically occurring in the spring. In 2011, Circle K International raised $10,352.68 for the March of Dimes.
